Locality: Mexico

Rock/Mineral Info: Black Obsidian forms as a result of volcanic lava cooling quickly. It consists mainly of SiO2 (silicon dioxide), usually 70% or more.

Metaphysical Properties: Black Obsidian is known as the "Stone of Truth." It has the elements of fire, water, and earth and is said to have the most potent energy.
